Answers:
No! In fact, after working the last ten years in bars, I'm just about convinced that it should be raised to about 35. Or perhaps we could do away with the drinking age altogether and institute a minimum drinking IQ.

Other Answers:
No, not because 18 year olds shouldn't drink, but because they have younger friends who are just beginning to drive and even two years younger would be much less mature with it. Where as if the limit is 21 it is less likely to drift into younger teens. Plus at bars having 18 year olds there could be dangerous for them especially for women.
Depends on who you ask. I'm sure the liquor companies and bars wouldn't have too much of a problem w/ it, but church groups, parents and Alcoholics Anonymous might.

If it were an issue where you're destroying yourself, I say WTF, go for it. But seeing as how drinking (and second hand smoke) seem to affect the others around you (other drivers, family members, co-workers) you would have to be extra careful.

There are plenty of people who are 21 y/o and older already have problems w/ alcohol, there's no sense in adding millions more drinking 18 - 21 year olds into the community.
At 21 they still make bad decision, imagen at 18, there alway time to have a good time and a drink, why, rush it.
I don't think so. People at that age aren't mature enough. But, no matter what the legal drinking age is, it still doesn't stop underage drinking.
I think is should be 19 and I will tell you why. With the drinking age of 21, you have a situation in colleges where half of the students are of drinking age, and the other half are not. Think of how much money is wasted on enforcing a law that prohibits one half of a closed population from doing something the other half is allowed to do. I choose 19 over 18 because there are many 18 year olds in high school, whereas very very few 19 year olds are in high school. People in high school should not be allowed to drink, but college age adults should (and do), and it is a waste to try and stop them.
In most of Canada it is 19. In the province of Quebec it is 18.
Bottom line is they drink regardless of whether the age is 18, 19 or 21. That was the age change progression for drinking here in NY. There are kids who are 10 and up who are drinking, getting their alcohol from various resources. When I turned 18, I was able to legally drink. My behavior was no different at 21. And honestly, I drank before I was 18 with peers from school. I'm pretty certain that I wasn't the only one. What about serving your own children, in your own home at meal time? Is this legal? If so, does it contradict the law?
No, because kids these days are not responsible.
