Answer:
This is an amusing question. My answer is YES. I peel the stringy filaments off before eating. If I don't, I have experienced the stringy filaments getting caught in my throat. I then have to stick my fingers in there to retrieve it and it feels like it's coming all the way from my stomach because they are long. Mind you - I also do agree with everyone else, it is a dry, bitter, and nasty tasting part of the banana.

Mmmmm - what a pleasant thought hey!?

Thanks for asking.
Yep. The stringy things taste like cardboard.
yea sometimes
Yes, every day. Twice a day.
YES!! I HATE that part of the banana! I thought I was the only one.

I do the same thing with celery!
Yes they taste odd.
Yes, doesn't everybody?
I do, I cant stand to even think about eating the strings. I always wondered if I was a minority in doing this. No one else I have seen does this.
I do, I don't like how those stringy filaments taste, they're messy and stickier than the rest of the banana.
yes, those stringy things make my mouth feel totally dry and nasty, so although they usually come off when i peel the bananna, i peel off whatever of them is left
sometimes most of the time i chow down bananas are awesome either way to me
Is there like a dirty joke here that I'm not getting?
Yeah once in awhile if I feel like it
Sure do. Can't stand them! I don't know if it's psychological or not, but the thought of those stringy things in my mouth is soooo gross ...
uhum
yes its the only way .unless you like to keep spitting out those nasty strings.
Yes, I do, don't you?
I sure do
of course. the peelings and the strings on the peels have no value of the fruit except for garabge,,,,
Ewww Yes !! They have this weird bitter taste.
Yes, if they are real loose I do.
Heck yeah....
Yep. Those things are bitter and leave a weird film in my mouth.
Usually.
