Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days, anyone help us?
Kitty said: Yes.Alternatives to expensive 2% milk?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Alternatives to expensive 2% milk?),it will help you,my kids.
Milk, OJ, and gas is getting outrageously expensive. With gas I have no choice, I have to go to work. OJ I don't drink really. But my family loves 2% milk. We buy like 2 gallons every week and a half or so.
Is there Any alternative to the milk? I have heard of that silk soymilk, but I think that is also very expensive. I also am worried about taste. They love the taste of 2% milk. Is there anything out there that is affordable that still tastes good plain and in cereal?
Answer:
Try 1% milk.
Have you tried powerded milk?
Nothing can beat milk taste. Try milk powder but milk is milk. Cut on other stuff rather then milk, which provides so much of calcium & other vitamins.
not really........my mom used to catch milk on sale by the gallon and put it in the deep freezer to save some money.
When I was a kid and my Mom was forced to scrimp & save after my folks divorced, she used get powdered milk. I think I blocked the whole thing out because I don't remember how it tasted or smelled or anything, but it's suppoed to be a great, not to mention really inexpensive, option to traditional milk.

If you have a Costco membership, they have really good milk deals and if you have room, freezed a few.
try mixing reconstituted powdered milk with whole milk.
The powdered stuff on its own is pretty nasty, but when you mix it with whole milk the results are pretty close to reduced-fat(1% or 2%) milk .
u can use powdered milk-after its been refrigerated 24 hours it taste like regular milk, but before the 24 hours it has a funky taste and you can also buy whole milk as i do(same cost as 2% at my store) and divide it my using a quarter gallon of milk to 3/4 gallon of filtered water- after its been refrigerated it tastes great and you get 4 gallons of milk to a gallon.
