Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Arnt having sugar like equal, or drinking diet coke in some ways worse for you b),it will help you,my kids.

My friend and myself are in an arguement

When I drink a coke or have sugar, lemonade, w/e I just stick to the normal stuff and drink it in moderation.

My good friend always uses equal, drinks diet coke, and enjoys many drinks such as crystal light which are loaded with sweetners.

I believe aspertane is the sweetner used?

She thinks i'm the unhealthy one but i believe thats unhealthy?

whos right?
(If she is right i want to know cause then maybe I should switch over)
(will that really effect your weight?)

Answer:
Yes, you are correct. All diet products (note ingredients) have Aspertame, for their artificial sweetners; as you state, Equal, Diet Coke, etc.

Aspertame is approved by the FDA, (to my dismay) but those of us that do further research understand that it effects one's serotonin in the brain, and therefore we choose not use those products. Many articles have come around the internet about this problem over the years.

Use regular sugar or even Sweet 'n Low and always drink regular sodas and eat the regular food - never anything with the word 'diet'!

Happy Health! Pass this info on.
Ok. This is a really complicated question because it really depends on your specific viewpoint. I'll try to answer is as unbiased as I can, but truthfully? I'm with your friend.

Diet sodas and artificial sweeteners do contain aspertame, a chemical that has been proven to cause cancer in lab rats. Many people simply hear that fact, and decide that it must be bad for you.
However, those lab rats were fed the equivalent of (I'm not sure if I got this statistic exactly right) 40,000 cans of diet coke a day, and it took ten years for the cancer to develop. These lab rats are also much smaller than we are, so it affects them in a much higher magnitude than humans.

Normal sodas simply contain a massive amount of sugar, which can cause long-term damages of obesity, clogged arteries, and (mother always said) cavities.

Good luck!
