My guess , is that it isn't fully cooked , and pork from bacon and hot dogs will get you real sick if not cooked right.
Im a vegetarian, so no I dont like them. But Im not sure about them being illegal. Never heard that one.
The best hot dog I had was from a street vendor in Mexico. They call it the exquisite hot dog. They fried the whole weiner, with a piece of bacon wrapped around it, until the bacon was crisp. They spread some Miracle Whip on the bun, put on the weiner, sprinkled some chopped onion and tomato, then topped it with salsa. Was it ever good! Now you can make your own.

kinda had the same thing but with a twist, slice hotdog open,add slice of cheese, wrap closed with baconn then roll up in a crescent roll and bake
