I ate an avocado today which had a hollow stone. When cutting the avocado in half I accidentally cut the stone in half. But the stone was pretty much a thin layer of skin, and was darker than most stones. Was it safe to eat?
Answer:
avocadoes are fruit, and when they go off, they go all brown and horrible looking. if it looked ok enough for you to eat, it was ok to eat! trust your instinct!
the hollow stone just means it's been off the tree for a while and used up the flesh of the stone to survive this long.
don't worry about it.
