Everytime I reheat food in the microwave..its all dry and the rice is hard and the noodles are dry.

Answers:
usually i add about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per cup of rice or noodles then cover it w plastic wrap to allow it to "stem" back to a fresher taste than otherwise microwaving

Other Answers:
Yeah add some water.

it won't hurt it and will make it taste better.
I think water would mush it up. Try butter or a bit of some kind of sauce and stir it up now and then while you have it in the microwave.
I agree that sauce is better. For example, with the rice, if it is with Chinese food, I put the entree in the bottom of the take out container and the rice on top. BE SURE TO TAKE OFF THE METAL HANDLE. (Sorry about the caps, but I wanted to be sure that the warning was noticed.) Then I microwave the container, without the metal, and the rice is nicely steamed by the juices from the original entree.
Yes add a little water and stir. Then pop in microwave.
my suggestion is to cover the rice/pasta with cling-film and every 30 seconds take out of microwave and give it a stir - its what i do and it stop the pasta/rice from drying out
yup always betta too, if you add say a teaspoon full roughly per 100g of food your microwaving it will stop it from drying out.
when reheating rice or pasta , try adding some frozen veges. and some butter
I always add a little butter and/or sauce (especially chilly) Thinking of it makes me feel hungry!
You can also do this: For the microwave oven, add 2 tablespoons of water per 1 cup of rice, cover and heat for about 1 minute.
Place the leftover noodles/pasta on a plate or in a microwave safe baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap, leaving one corner open slightly to allow steam to escape.
Microwave on medium power to prevent overcooking and heat for 1 to 1 ? minutes. If the microwave does not have a turntable, stop the microwave halfway through the cooking time and turn the dish.
If you have any leftover sauce, it can be drizzled over the pasta/noodles before reheating to help prevent it from becoming too dried out.
ABSOLUTELY! Add a little water to rice and sometimes noodles.
Yes sprinkly some water on it, making sure to heat it on a microwave safe plate, you may want to place a solid white paper napkin on top to avoid the splattering.

Warning about heating food in plastic containers and freezing bottled water. The link below, is from NIH, it is a study they conducted on the affects of microwaved food in plastic containers have on our bodies. Many different structural classes of industrial chemicals released into the environment possess potential hormonal activity or may alternormal patterns of hormone effects, potentially cancerous toxins are emmitted when plastic is heated. In another study they also found cancerous effects from freezing plastic bottled water, that during the course of thawing, the plastic emmitted cancerous agents which filtered into the ice water.

Yes, add a little water (healthier than butter, etc.) and cover with a paper towel. When re-heating anything in the microwave it is best to use 50% power. Full power ruins food that has already been cooked. Stirring half-way through is also a good idea.

Just a couple teaspoons stirred into rice or any kind of pasta will keep if from getting dry. Stir it in & cover your dish.
its a good idea 2 add water 4 those noodles & rice.
If it's rice I sprinkle a little bit of water on it before putting it in the micorwave. If it's a lot of rice, I stir the rice around to make sure the water distributes evenly. In the microwave, the added water steams the rice and moistens it.

The same would probably work with noodles, though I usually have a moist enough sauce for the noodles that I just stir them together.

In either case, cover the food so the steam can't escape and the food can't splatter your microwave.

My suggestions seem a lot simpler than the others'.

Also, I believe that microwave oven cooks the food by heating the water molecules in it. So adding oil or fat will not have the same effect. It works with butter, because butter is actually a mixture of oil and watery things like milk solids and water.
