I love chilli-infused olive oil but I like it really hot. Waitrose use to sell one by Merchant Gourmand but stopped a couple of years ago. Since then, I cannot find one hot enough. The ones sold by Tesco and Asda are mild. I even orderedsome from Merchant Gourmand directly, but they seemed to have changed to a milder oil. Any suggestions?

Answer:
just make it your self ,get the chillies and heat them in the oil and bolttle it then you can add what your want
specialty stores
speciatley stores nowhere else Ive tryed
what about adding your own chopped chillis to a bottle of oil and leaving it to infuse. You could then make it as hot as your like. Another way is to add the dried chilli seeds to oil, these make the oil hot and give you a great flavour. good luck
I do not no but u can get fingerless chilli at an wendys in USA
ASK Restaurant have a really nice one, go in on a quite afternoon for lunch and nicely ask the manager if you could buy some, offer a decent tip n there ya go.
The hot chilli oil you want is sold at Wing Yip if you live in the Uk. I bought some last weekend & it's red hot & will definately blow your socks off! They also have a web site.
Hope this is of help to you.
i usually buy at a halal butchers, i don't know any of the big stores.
I don't know which area in the UK you live in but if you live in London or near Surrey and you own a car, you should go to Purley and there is a giant Asian Supermarket called Win Yip where you can buy so many varieties of Chilli oil and other Asian delicacies.
500ml olive oil
50gr red chilli, finely chopped
1 sprig of thyme
1 bay leaf
1 unpeeled garlic clove

Heat oil to about 80 deg c, add all the ingredients .
Turn off heat immediatly and cover with lid.
Leave the oil to cool and strain.
Pour into a bottle and cork

I buy hot chilli oil (small bottle with chilli seeds in it) from my local Chinese supermarket. Use it on spring rolls etc. Not for the faint hearted!! Where do you live? Not everyone is lucky to have an Asian/Indonesian outlet to purchase Eastern goodies from, but if you are able to get to the NCR there is a Wing Yip (already mentioned) near Brent X shopping centre.
Look no further than Sainsburys, they do an excellent one. By the way glad to know you aren't completely stupid!!
