Answer:
Because there is no abundance of water in the toaster to create the steam.
Pay no attention. It's just the hallucinations from the drugs you're on that enticed you to attempt cooking toast in a boiling kettle.
Since there is more water available to turn to steam in a kettle than in bread, the volume of steam is greater and thus more visible.
Lack of moisture in the bread, so no steam.......

I suppose you could try toasting soggy wet bread, however you'd probably electrocute yourself...so don't try that!
I'll answer your question with a question:

A) How much water (moisture) is in bread?
B) How much water (moisture) is in water?

When you are cooking toast, there is a mimimal amount of moisture in there, and you do not see the water vapors as they come out the top.

On the other hand, when you are "cooking" water, you are making it reach its boiling point and it is turning into a gaseous form, which you can see as steam. Because there is so much moisture in that small spot (the narrow spout of a kettle) you see the steam much like a clud in the sky that has gathered enough moisture and is getting ready to rain.

You can try this next time you are making toast...Put your hand over top of the toaster (high enough so you feel the warmth but are not getting burnt). After the first 30-40 seconds of toasting, remove your hand and place it on a paper towel.

It should have collected moisture (steam that you can't see because there is not enough of it) and will feel wet or leave a wet mark on the paper towel.
other people have answered this question but I want to say u have a good observing power and .u observe things very deeply and it is a good habit
simple. cause your there toasting your bread your watching your kettle waiting for your bread to turn into toast,
good or what
Is this a trick question?
Because chances are good you turn on the kettle and exit the room to do something else while it boils.
When cooking toast simultaneously with boiling water, you're in the room to NOTICE the water, thus it is MORE VISIBLE.
If your question is really as you phrase it, can you let me know what you're on?
