Just because something is called 'cage free' doesn't mean those hens ever see the sun or walk on the ground. It doesn't mean that bird isn't de-beaked, pumped full of growth hormones, steroids and antibiotics. Same goes for the beef and pork they sell...by the time they're done with the 'processing' they have to add even more chemicals to make the meat taste like hamburger.
What BK is saying is meant to pacify those critics who have only a superficial understanding of the food industry in this country today. Once you have a clear picture of the facts, the mere thought of eating out will turn your stomach.

i am a farmer producing continental beef, and believe it or not i care about my animals. i believe the better care you take the better the quality of the animal, i also grow agri-fuels (willow). i am impressed with the steps bk are taking, people in the industry can take steps to make the animals lives easier, and whenever i do take the kid's for a burger we will now in future go to bk thanks for the info.

I always used to leave Burger King and half an hour later feel hungry again, never had that problem at McDonald's. But haven't had a burger from anywhere except homemade these days.
