I have a family of 10 people. 2 adults and 8 children ages from 10 years to 3 months. I need some receipts that are quick easy and won't put a huge dent in our grocery bill to feed all of us except the 3 month old twins.

Shepherd's Pie Recipe
3 lbs lean ground beef
5 lbs potatoes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons Miracle Whip
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup milk
1 large onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, crushed
3-5 tablespoons barbecue sauce or your favorite steak sauce
12 ounces frozen corn
25-30 servings 2 casseroles
Brown ground beef.
Add onion, garlic, frozen corn, barbeque sauce or steak sauces, and any seasonings you like to the ground beef and continue cooking on low until all is warmed. Cook and mash potatoes, adding the olive oil, milk, and miracle whip (or cream cheese if you like). Spoon the ground beef mixture into a large casserole dish and cover with mashed potatoes. This recipe usually makes enough for 2 casserole dishes. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top. Put in warm oven and cook at 350 for approximately 30-45 minutes, until cheese is browned. Let cool for 15 minutes and enjoy.

You are my new hero! I don't know anything CHEAP about raising a family of ten. I've got a few kids but sister you got me beat. I do a lot of stir fries, shake and bake, chili and stuff like that. Good luck :-) One of my quick, easy, and inexpensive favorites is tuna casserole. All you need is a couple cans of tuna fish, a couple cans of cream of mushroom soup, a big bag of noodles, and some cheese to top it off if you like. First off, boil the noodles until they are tender. Drain the noodles and put them in a casserole dish. Then you mix the tuna and cream of mushroom soup in with the noodles, and top with cheese if you like, then place the dish in the oven on 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until warm and serve.
spaghetti and meatballs.
This my golden chicken family sytle recipe.Take 4 cut up chickens, dredge in flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Fry until golden in a roaster pan. Set chicken aside. Put 1/4 cup dredging flour in the drippings, stir until you have a roux (thick paste), add large can chicken broth, stir until creamy. Return chicken to roaster and bake at 350'. While baking fix taters or rice. Also fix favorite side veggie. corn on the cob is best , enjoy your dinner!Spaghetti goes far... Do the one pot style. Cook your noodles in a large pot. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain. Once the noodles are done. Add a can of tomato sauce and a can of tomato paste. Then add the meat. You now have a simple and cheap one pot meal that will feed plenty.
You can also use chicken or ground turkey.
Then there is always a couple of boxes of Hamburger or Yuna Helper.
Also you can buy bags of chicken quarters at your local grocery store. They sometimes have really good sales on these piece and you can bake, grill or fry them. I've seen them on sale as low as 30 cents per pound.
I hope this help.
soup! chicken and dumpling soup, for you, double this recipe.
one whole chicken, boil it, pick off the bone, save the stock, now throw ion chopped carrots and celery and onion along with peeled chicken. let simmer for about 20 min. get the pillsburry cheap biscuits 2 cans per soup batch, roll out nd slice into 1 inch strips and place them in the soup, simmer for another 10-15 min and ready to serve My mother had hundreds. Spaghetti was a favorite. With meatballs or meat sauce when we could afford meat, with canned mushrooms when we couldn't. She made her own sauce from canned tomatos, garlic and onions, simmered for a couple of hours.
Homemade macaroni, cheese and ham, baked.
Scalloped potatos and ham
Tuna and rice casserole (same as with noodles, but lot less slimy.)
Mom never served bread with our meals unless we had soup, so we never got used to it.
