Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days, anyone help us?
Kitty said: Yes.Does anyone have a recipe for cheese soup.?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Does anyone have a recipe for cheese soup.?),it will help you,my kids.
The one I'm looking for has bacon and onions in it. No other veggies. And I think they used cream cheese.
Answers:
2 cups water place in 2 qt pan and heat untill boiling. Then add 2 teaspoons corn starch.(This is the base) Reduce heat and continue to stir until thickened (about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes) take 10 ounces American cheese cut into slices and then cut the slices smaller. Add to your base mixture. Stir constantly until melted. On a medium setting ( not boiling but just about) Then stir in 8 ounces Cream Cheese again stiring until melted. At this point (if you want to thin the soup you can add milk.) Add 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon and 1/4 cup onion (red onion makes for a little color) Valdalia sweet onions are really great too!
rememver to stir constantly while on the burner or the cheese will burn to the bottom of the pan. That is also why it's made with the water mixture, Milk will scald on the bottom of the pan before the cheese will melt.
If you put it in the fridge. To reheat you can thin it with milk then... ENJOY! I forgot ot add that you can use the sliced american cheese or Velvetta, Velvetta seems to me to taste alittle saltier. but just add a coule of slices at a time to the pot and stir alot it will melt in. I don't know how much you cook ! So I will add this comment when you add the cornstarch to the water to thicken it.You want the water to only be a slight heavy (soup consistancy) you'll see what I mean and either add more water or cornstarch to adjust it
Other Answers:
no but you can buy campbell's cheese soup and add your own goodies
