In a study on the actual effect of shrimp on cholesterol, it was shown that shrimp does indeed reduce LDL cholesterol (provided that you aren't frying the shrimp_. It is also extremely high in other beneficial nutrients.
Scallops are also very high in beneficial nutrients. No mention of cholesterol is made.
As for squid, it seems to have a similar cholesterol profile to shrimp.
