Kitty said: Yes.Draining Tuna Fish?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Draining Tuna Fish?),it will help you,my kids.
Other than squeezing out the water from the can using the lid, is there another way to get all of the water out?
Answers:
I use a strainer or a colander and put the tuna in it over my sink, bu I don't press or mash down the tuna. I like the big chunks left, so I just leave it there for about an hour, tossing it every 15 minutes or so to get all of the liquid out.
Other Answers:
Use a strainer.
I think you are using the easiest way. Do you think there is a reason to do it differently?
You could always empty the can into a very fine mesh strainer, actually this is safer and gets rid of all of the water.
use strainer but you still must press the water out i find the can method easiest
use a collander it's one of those mesh screen spoons rinse well and let sit for a minute
Use a fine mesh strainer and press the tuna against the strainer with a spoon.
Fine mesh strainer or twist in cheese cloth
On a side note, Tuna fish now contains high leaves of mercury due to the pollution of our oceans. Many doctors now say that women of childbearing age should not eat tuna. This means if you plan on having kids, or are young and may have kids latter in life, and (or) breast feeding (and you are female) you shouldn't eat tuna or any other oceanic fish.
Some say there are exceptions; Mackerel (not King Mackerel), Herring, and Sockeye Salmon (not any other type of salmon). And only wild caught fish, farm fish are a big no no!
That's the only method I have used never thought to do it a different way.
