My oven went out, and it is my son's birthday tommorrow. He loves it when I bake him a cake, and prefers mine to store bought. He was looking so forward to having his "MOMMY" bake him a cake. I can't get a service repair out till tuesday! Is there such thing as a microwave cake? and do you have a recipe?

buy a cake that looks homemade.. that is your best bet..and pretend you made it yourself.. they have microwavable brownies....they always come out like cake
no I have no idea if these work, but you can google "microwaveable cake" and find some recipes.
Does it have a convection function? Read the manual and see first. If so, mine works like a charm. I'm sure it will be wonderful...
If not:
Bundt Cake Variations:
1 package (18.5 oz.) chocolate cake mix
1 (3 oz.) package instant pudding mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup liquid (milk, coffee, or juice)
4 eggs
Mix ingredients together in order given. Pour into bundt pan and bake at 70% power for 12-18 minutes or until done. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.
VARIATIONS: Use same amount of oil and eggs but substitute the following:
DARK CHOCOLATE PECAN:
Devils food cake mix, chocolate pudding mix, 1 cup double strength coffee, 1/2 cup chopped pecans
COCONUT PECAN:
Yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, orange, apple or pineapple juice, 1/2 cup chopped pecans and coconut

MADE THEM, TOO... YOU CAN BUY THEM IN A SUPER MARKET. OR BUY ONE ALREADY MADE AND PUT IT IN ONE OF YOUR PANS.....
It can be done..I can't find my old recipe for you (if I find it I'll enter it later) but there are microwave cookbooks even on line...
I don't know if you kept the information packet that probably came with your microwave but check it out because the manufacturer generally includes a cookbook. Most library are closed Sundays but if you're near a mall you can always 'eye' recipes from the bookstore...You must have a warranty on your microwave because most of us just buy a new one when the old one fries...and to have a service man/person come out to fix it -oh, the luxury!
