Hey, I was wondering if anyone can help me out.
I have a very serious allergy to eggs. And I go on a lot of campouts. My group planned to make pizza in a dutch oven (they have a recipe). While the recipe does not call for eggs, stuff with eggs HAS been cooked in the dutch oven before. And with my allergies, any pots, pans, silverware, etc. has to be washed.
My question is this: We have a dutch oven (cast iron, I believe) that is seasoned but needs to be washed. VERY thouroughly. How do I do this? How do I reseason?

If you scrub it, you must re-season it. That's the nature of an iron pot. Perhaps it would make more sense to buy a new one, and keep it for your own use, and never let anyone put eggs in it.

AuntB is right! PLEASE don't destroy the value of a well-seasoned iron pot by scrubbing all the seasoning off! Go buy your own pot. Makes much more sense.
Are you sure your allergy is to eggs and not to some other ingredient in something you ate? Have you had a RAST test?
Do you carry epinephrine?
