they always crack before they are done. PLEASE HELP!

Answers:
Start them in cold water - putting cold eggs into boiling water cracks them. Then, when the water starts to boil, turn it down so that it boils very gently. Then, when the eggs are done, take the pan to the sink and run cold water into the hot water so that it cools down slowly. When the water is cooled down, leave the eggs in the pan, as they loose heat better in water.....

UHHHHH, no clue why they do that for you. I jut put them in water and boil.

A tip to go with the last answer - Put salt in the water that way the shell won't crack. boil the water...REALLLLLLLYYYY HOTTT then put the eggs in leave 4 like a long time and let it sit there inside the pot till the water cools then take them out and eat...simple.

Boil the water first (do not put the eggs in while the water is trying to boil) set the eggs out while you are waiting the water to boil. This will help them not crack when you put them in the boiling water. Put the eggs in carefully after the water is at a full boil. When the water returns to a full boil, set timer for 10 minutes. As soon as the timer goes off take the whole pot and put in the sink and run cold water over the eggs. Do this until the eggs are cool enough to hold in your hand. This method of rapid heating and rapid cooling will help eliminate the yolks from turning green. Enjoy!

I put them in the water first whilel the water is cool & very gently put them in so they don't break, then start the fire under the pot...when it starts to boil, let them boil x 15 minutes, & let them cool..good luck

1. place pot on stove
2. place eggs SOFTLY in pot one layer around, and however many will fit in the circle.
3. fill with water
4. Turn on heat to medium high, and check time.
5. When a egg will spin like a top it is done.
6. check time again. (at heat setting, this is the time it takes to make another batch)

put salt in the water then put the eggs in gently so they don't crack. put the water on medium high. when bubbles start to come up pull the pot aside the eye a little, like on the edge but not completely off, and turn the temperature down and when they do crack take them to the sink and put cold water in the pot till all the water is cold then put more salt on the egg rinse it and take the shells off. all salt does is make the water have to get hotter in order to boil, dont put eggs in boiling water, put them in while the water is cold then gradually heat, mine hardly ever crack, but im going to peel the shell off anyways, deviled eggs rule

put them in a pot of cold water then get the water boiling and then wait till the eggs float to the top(or vise versa)

Put a dish towel in the bottom of pan, gently add eggs. Cover with water, about an inch over eggs. Bring to a boil, boil gently for 15 min. My mom use to add salt to the water. I think it had something to do to prevent cracking. But, I don't remember for sure.

You need to start with eggs that are at room temperature - if they are cold, straight from the fridge, then of course they will crack when you boil them (simple physics). Place the eggs in a pan of cold water - adding a dash of vinegar to the water can help prevent the white coming out if the egg does crack during cooking. Bring slowly to the boil, and continue boiling for at least 10 mins, depending on how hard you like your eggs. Have the eggs at room temp b4 cooking, place in pan of cold water and bring to the boil, then switch of heat and leave in pan for 5 mins.
