I seem to have bad luck with this job, and i end up tearing a lot of the egg white away with the shell. I just want to know, thanks

Answers:
After exhaustive research, i've determined the absolute best method is to tap the egg all over to crack the shell, then roll it gently back and forth along a countertop. Peel from the wide end.

Shell still stuck like glue? Wait a few days, say the experts at the American Egg Board. Freshly cooked eggs are harder to peel. To avoid rubbery eggs, "hard-cook" your cackle berries: Place one layer of eggs in a pan and cover with an inch of water. Bring just to a boil then remove the pan from the heat and let eggs steep 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the eggs from the hot water to an ice water bath to stop the cooking.

Other Answers:
Peel when they are still warm and use a spoon to curl under the egg shell all the way around.

i peel them under running cold water,, that is the best way i know how to do it!!!! hold it under running water, and don't peel it off, rub it. Crack it first, then put your thumb around the crack and rub it around until the shell starts coming off, then try to rub your thumb around enough to get the shell off. All of this under running water. You'll get to where you can get the whole shell off in one piece.

You have to run them under cold water as quickly as possible if you want it cold...if you want it hot..it is one of life's mysteries that needs to be solved

make sure that as soon as you take them off the burner, to dump the hot boiling water out, and add very cold water and lots of ice. the shell comes of alot better if you chill them fast.

Use a hammer beat the sh*t out of them that will help. After you are done boiling them, you need to put them in cold water immediately. This helps you to peel them more easily.

crack it. then roll around on the table. it should work. goog luck!

YOu have to run them under very cold water....

I just found this out yeaterday

(attn kitty.) I take them out of the fridge and run HOT water over them. :) i roll it around on the table until the shell is all cracked.

put some salt in the water you cook them in works every time for me..

don't you have better questions to ask? who cares how you peel a boil egg!

If you put about 2 tablespoons of vinegar in when you're boiling them and run them under cold water when they are finished the shell should peel off cleanly no problems

my mom Take them right off the stove, set the pan in the sink, and run cold, cold water on them. Then add ice and let them sit for about 3-5 minutes. Then on a paper towel, crack the eggshell ALL the way around the egg, then slowly peel it off.
Hint: If you crack the egg shell ALL the way around the egg, the smaller pieces will tend to come off easier than large pieces.

Years of experience making deviled eggs. :)

boil the eggs for 8 minutes, removed from heat, pour off the hot water immediately and put the hot eggs into cold iced water. Then they should peel much more easily. the others are right about the cold water, but also be sure to start by cracking it on the end, where the air bubble is under the shell, gives you a good starting point as it is not attached to the egg there. good luck.

once your eggs have boiled, empty water from pan , shake pan to crack shells fill with cold water and peel clean WAH_LAH

actually it has alot to do with the age of the egg.. newer eggs are the ones that have the shell that doesnt come off easy. I always buy my eggs about a week ahead of time that I will be boiling them so they have time to age and then the shell comes off cleanly.

Pasty chef !! all about the chemistry!!

Crack the egg and let sit in cold water about 1 minute then peel. add salt to your water before boiling. put the eggs in pan, add salt, then add water, boil, then when they are done, drain them, put in cold water.

umm. yea. after u boil them, quickly putthem in a bowl of cold water and peel them about 2 or 3 minutes after. it works, promise. ^_^

I always make sure the eggs are cold & it seems to me, the fresher the eggs, the harder to peel cleanly.

Use older eggs as they peel off easier.

You need to boil the eggs for atleast 10 minutes in salt water after starts boiling to get them hard boiled. A small crack on the surface after a few minutes of boiling will ensure that the inside is not soft.

After they are boiled, take them off the stove top, let them cool down. Put them in ice cold water to harden. Peel below their membrane and they will come off smoothly.

As soon as they finish boiling, poor off the hot water and run cold water over them untill cool. They will peal with ease.
