Someone told me that if you rub between the eyes of a lobster it goes to sleep so when you put it in the pot it will be the perfect shape when it comes out.

Ha Ha Ha! Somebody actually still tells that old wives' tale? Well when you drop you "presumed sleeping" lobster in the pot, I would sure not let it get me with it's tail which it can use to draw up and smack you or give it a chance to get me in one of it's delicious claws! I can't believe that they still tell people that hooey! It's been years since I heard that, and even longer since I believed it!
By the way most of the best and largest lobsters and crustaceans like Blue Crabs and Lobsters actually get meaner if they are in colder water or a cold enviroment. Throw that lobster or that batch of crabs in that pot while they are live, and cook 'em up, I use a Large Stainless Steal Stock Pot and two burners when I cook up a pot of blue crabs! Throw in some old bay seasoning and I have even had crabs steamed in beer, they were pretty tasty. By the way I keep a good sized rock by my kitchen door to weight the top of the pot down until they stop sturggling to escape!
Cook 'em while they are alive and kicking! When they are listless or nearly dead, you are more likely to find they are on their way to spoiling too.

i know if you put a knife though its head between the eyes it will. or put it in the fridge for 20 min. it will fall asleep.
