My mum used Rice Krispies as breading. It was awesome. It gave a little crunch to the standard fried chicken!
Cooking with bread crumbs is fine. Coat it in a little beaten egg first. Mmm!

grand mother Wallace may she rip used to do that we wantd different stuff yum yum.
I do it all the time. Heres a recipe for ya:

4 thin chicken breasts
1 egg
1.5 cups of bread crumbs
1 cup of milk
1/2 tablespoon of each: garlic powder, onion powder
1 tblsp of parsley
salt and pepper

Beat egg with milk in a shallow bowl, salt and pepper. In another shallow bowl add bread crumbs and seasonings and salt and pepper. Coat the chicken with egg wash and let drip, dip in bread crumbs. You can either fry it in oil or bake it in the oven for 45 minutes. I would recommend pan frying on each side to brown, then putting in the oven to finish.

Now you could add mozzerella and/or provolone cheese to the top at the end (for about last 10 minutes) and then place it on some pasta and top with spaghetti sauce....

Good Luck.
yes... the bread crumbs add zesty flavor and just the right crunch.
my favorite is to combine Progresso Italian bread crumbs with parmesean cheese and some pepper.
Then dip chicken pieces in melted butter and cover with the bread crumb mixture.

DELICIOUS!!
