Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Have you done fondue at home?),it will help you,my kids.

If so, what do you make? Is it worth the effort or is it just an occasional treat?

Answers:
No, but my brother has (he has the whole fondue setup and all). He's done cheese and chocolate (not together, of course). With the cheese, he had bread (my favorite), veggies, and a few different meats. With the chocolate, he had different fruits (my favorite were the strawberries) and pretzels. It was so unbelievably good. I'd say it's worth it!

Other Answers:
I'd say an occasional treat. But, that's because I hate cleaning things up probably.

The worst thing I think is the risk of tipping over hot oil. Electric fondue pots are especially dangerous in this way. Of course the ones with the open flame have their own problems. I tried it ONCE while my son was young. We waited about 10 years to try again. Now he thinks it's great fun. Fondue parties can be a lot of fun--and if you don't like a lot of cleanup, try using a ready-made sauce or simple recipe and heat it in the microwave instead of using a fondue set. The fondue pot will keep the sauce or broth more evenly heated, and you'll have fewer problems with chocolate sauces "seizing", but if you don't like the idea of setting up a fondue pot, it's another way to do it.

My children gave me a fondue set 2 years ago for Christmas. I don't use it very often, but when I do, it's well worth it.
