I'm going to a eurovision party Saturday and everybody is bring food from the country they have picked that is in it. I was going to be Belgium however as they haven't made it through. I need some help choosing a country and some food, any help please. It needs to be traditional to the country. It can't be Finland, UK, Croatia, Turkey others have got these.
Thanks very much for any help.

Answers:
Maltese - try getting a ciabbata or rome other type of flat bread, then get a tomato and cut it in half and rub the tomato onto the bread. Add olive oil on the bread and then add tuna, olives, capers, goat cheese (or peppered feta), beans ... practically we fill it in with this stuffing. If you can't find flat bread, try a normal baguette - it has to be fresh and crispy (and "rough" bread is better). Also, you can use tomato paste (dense tomato - traditionally we use kunserva - its dense and slightly sweet). Hope this helps, and vote for fabrizio ;o) [oooooops :o)]

It should be good with red wine, white wine or cold beer!
Enjoy the party. Am I invited?

Albania-Cookies in syrup (Sheqerpare)
easy to make
2 cups sugar
? cup butter, softened
2 eggs
2 cups flour
? teaspoon baking soda
? cup water
? teaspoon vanilla extract
2 to 3 whole cloves

Mix 1-cup sugar and butter in a bowl. Add yolks and stir until smooth. Add flour and baking soda and stir until a soft dough forms. Roll out the dough. Cut it into 2-inch rounds and place it on baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees until pale gold for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, make the syrup. Bring the remaining 1-cup sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan and cook until syrup spins a long thread, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat and season with vanilla and cloves to taste.

Remove cookies from oven when golden and allow them to cool. Pour hot syrup over cookies. Serve at room temperature.

Iceland, ice cubes.
Will be a fun party! Well, if you wanna go with Spain you can take some tapas stuff and sangria. With Greece you'd have to take greek salad, and meze things like tzatziki, taramosalata, pitta bread. With Italy it could be easier as you can take bruschetta, mini pizzas and other Italian food that is easy to find or prepare at home. That's all I can think of... Good Luck and have fun!
go with malta..u can either take the suggestion of the fellow above or go on www.di-ve.com/recipes and remember vote for fabrizio!!!!!!
