2-3 cups sugar (see note)
5 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup 7-Up soda
1 teaspoon lemon extract or vanilla extract
1 teaspoon butter flavor extract

1. Ingredients should be at room temperature.
2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
3. Grease a large tube pan.
4. Cream butter and shortening with sugar.
5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
6. Add flour alternately with 7-Up and extracts.
7. Bake until done, about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
8. *NOTE*The recipe originally called for 3 cups sugar, but 2 cups are sufficient.
9. There is no need to adjust amounts of other ingredients if you use less sugar.

1 cup (225 ml) 7-UP (can substitute with Sprite)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 C.).
Mix cake flour, sugar, and extracts with a spoon.
Add in room temperature butter 1 stick at a time and gradually add 7-UP to mixture.
Mix all ingrediants together on medium speed.
Grease bundt pan with butter and flour (shake off excess flour).
Pour cake batter into prepared bundt pan.
Bake for 40 minutes or until center is done.
7-Up Cake
1 box Lemon Supreme cake mix
4 eggs
2/3 c. wesson oil
1 pkg. pineapple instant pudding (sm. box)
1 (10 oz.) can 7-Up
Mix and bake according to directions on cake mix box.
Icing for 7-Up Cake
1 stick margarine
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 sm. can crushed pineapple
1 sm. can flaked coconut
Melt margarine. Add sugar and eggs. Cook over medium heat, until thick. Remove from heat. Add pineapple and coconut. Mix well and then frost cake.
