Oh my goodness, you totally need to try the 'south beach diet salad'. It is so good!

1 cup romaine lettuce
1 can (8 oz) tuna, drained
1/4 cup cucumber
1/4 cup tomato
1/4 cup celery
1 avocado (good fat)

Dressing:
2 tbsp. lime juice
4 tsp. olive oil (another good fat)
pinch of pepper
1 garlic clove or 1 tsp. chopped garlic (in glass jar)

Layer the salad. Mix the dressing ingredients and drizzle over salad. Mmmm!

Also, salmon, lean cuts of meat, and chicken is good for dinner. Baked chicken, or cook on the stove on medium heat in olive oil, and eat with black beans. Black beans are very good for you.

Drink a lot of water. Stay away from cokes and juices. I like the crystal light drink mixes, those are okay.

For breakfast, EGGS! Egg omlets are good for you, just watch the cheese you put in them. 2 tbsp. is okay, with other veggies.

Drink 1 % milk or lower, and with cheese, low and reduced fat is best. Never buy low fat or fat free mayo, always buy the real mayo because the other has more sugar.

You can also buy the south beach diet book. It has a lot of great stuff in it to help you. And stay active as much as possible. Park far away from the door where you're going, and take stairs if possible.

Salads just need to be jazzed up, also make sure you by your salad ingredients from a green grocers rather than the supermarket or you could go to farm shops the taste is a lot better.

Healthy salad dressing:
1 Lemon
Drizzle of olive oil
Basil
toss all items into salad and it gives a nice kick.

Check out the book "Living the GI Diet" by Rick Gallop. it is full of yummy recipes by Canadian living Cooks chefs. They really are good, I have this book and use it all the time.

For an easier solution, I steamed or grilled fish is easy and there are a number of ways you can dress it up (olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice is my fave). And nothing beats a tofu stirfry. Just chop up a block of extra firm tofu, throw in some veggies, douse it in low-sodium teriyaki sauce and away you go! GL and kudos!

I like to ad fruits to my greens in salads. i also love to eat nuts, seeds nad grains. They are filling, and tasty to me. I've lost 2.5 stone with Weight Watchers. Apart from the meetings, I have found the recipe books to be the best help there is. Get someone who attends meetings to buy them for you. Or join a meeting yourself. I wouldn't suggest it unless I knew it worked. It works. Good luck to you!
