I have raw Italian brats, how do you cook yours!?
Answers: use some cheap beer, and bring them to a boil in it!. You can add onions, garlic, whatever to the boil as well!. I like to grill them once they are just poached to a point where they are firm to the touch!. They will get a little pale from the blanching, but that is normal!. Another alternative is to roast them in the oven!. I like to serve them with green and red peppers sauteed in a little butter, garlic and seasonings (I use pepper, salt, and crueshed red pepper, cayene as well)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Begin by browning them, if you are doing this in side use a big fry pan!.
If this is being done on the grill watch as the grease in the sausage may cause a flare up!. Keep the heat med!. too high and they will char on the outside before the inside gets done!.
While the sausages are cooking, slice onions and peppers, both mild and hot!. Add some olive oil to a fry pan, saute the onions and peppers until they are nice and soft!. Add some tomato wedges, they will cook pretty fast, you want them just a little soft and heated through!.
When the sausages are done serve in a chunk of Italian bread topped with a good portion of the peppers, onions, and tomato!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They are great on the grill, but I usually do mine inside on the stove top!. I will put them in a medium skillet and cover the bottom with water!. Cook them for about ten minutes on each side, not letting the pan become dry!. Then, I just brown them in the pan until they have reached a high enough internal temperature!. (The temp should be listed on the package!.) I have also done them in the oven!. Split them down the middle, place in a baking dish with cut up green peppers and onions, and dot the top with butter!. Bake at 350 until done (about 45 minutes!.) Good luck and enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
