by "stuff around the house" I mean like non grated cheese and milk, toamto's, salt water, simple stuff, not like "rose mary" or "salsa" I'm talking the usual stuff everyone has.

A 16oz. tub of sour cream and a package of Lipton Onion soup mix. The best dip especially with Fritos Scoops.
Even more yummy... Put a block of cream cheese on a plate and pour a jar of mild chunky salsa over the top of it and serve with Wheat Thins. The yummiest!
For regular chips (ruffles or wavy lays) pour a can of re-fried beans into a dish and spread into bottom, then put chopped olives on top and some avocado's sliced very thin.
Or the easiest a 16oz. tub of sour cream and a package of Hidden Valley ranch dip mix.

1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
8 oz. sour cream
8 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
1 red pepper seeded and finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 t. ground cumin
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with crackers.
Chili Cheese Dip
2 pounds Velveeta cheese, cubed
4 cans (14 to 16 ounces each) chili without beans
2 cans (7 ounces) chopped green chilies
Mix all ingredients, then heat slowly in Dutch oven until melted. Stir again. Serve warm with tortilla chips.
Baked Cheese Dip
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup grated Monterey jack cheese
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can artichokes, chopped
1 round sourdough bread (10") -- hollowed out
Mix all the ingredients together and hollow out a round loaf of French bread. Put the mixture into the bread, put lid back on and bake for 1-1/4 hours at 350oF.
Quick, Easy -N- Fast Shrimp Dip Recipe
This makes a great dip for crackers and vegetables.
4 8 oz packages cream cheese
1 8 oz. container sour cream
1/2 C. ketchup
2 T. prepared horseradish
1 T. dried, minced onions
1 t. ground pepper
1 t. dried mustard
2 t. garlic powder (not garlic salt)
1/2 lb. shrimp, cooked and diced
Soften the cream cheese and mix well with sour cream. Fold in other ingredients. Add the diced shrimp last. Chill for at least one hour. When doubling, adjust seasonings
Garlic Potato dip
1 # baking potatoes peeled and cut in 1 inch chunks
4 tsp. minced garlic about 8 cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup olive oil
Cook the potato in boiling water, lightly salted for about 15 minutes and drain off all the liquid. Place in a food processer. Add the garlic and salt and blend together.
Add the lemon juice and blend till smooth. Slowly add the olive oil blending on low until the mixture is very smooth. Transfer to a serving dish. Can garnish with chopped chives if you desire.
Serve with pita wedges or crackers or chips. I'll give you a simple recipe to go eith potato or corn chips.
