If I cook turkey mince on it's use by date, does it need eating the same day!? I've been told that as long as I cook the meat by it's 'use by' date, it will keep for a further for 2-3 days in the fridge!.

But I'm thinking it should be cooked, and eaten by the use by date!? Can someone tell me which it is!?

ThanksWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers: Use by date is more of a reference for the supermarket!.

However, you can look at the "use by" date as meaning "cook by" date!. Afterward, you can store for 2 or 3 days, as you mentioned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. It doesn't have to be eaten the same day!. Cooking it at temps of at least 350 degrees should kill whatever bacteria!. Remember the e-coli in the ground beef here in the states!? The recommendation was to cook for approx!. 10-20 min!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should probably eat it same day but if you have left overs then store it the refrigorator for about 2days no longerWww@FoodAQ@Com
