Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(If a potato is green just below the skin, is it bad?),it will help you,my kids.
I peeled a potato, and under the peeling, it is green. Is it bad to eat, even if it is cooked?
Answers:
It might be but probably not.
They get green as they get old
They begin to photosynthesise.
Just cut the green off if you're worried.
In future store them in the dark where the greening will not occurr
Other Answers:
no, it just was picked before it was fully ripened. But it will be just fine.
No, it's good. Probably very fresh. It's just unripe. I would wait a little while, and see if it ripens a bit more.
just cut the green off if you dont it will make it taste funny
Peel down past the green part. Green potato can give you a bad stomach ache, and supposedly it's poisonous.Nope, just a bit sun cooked. Didn't you watch last week's Arthur? (I can't believe I just wrote that [and didn't erase it.]) its good to eat it. It's probably fresh.
No, just misunderstood.
yeah thats what i like to call nuerofibromatosis. it is a food poisening speific to patatoes that can cause food poisening and other effects on the bodies amuin system. No, It was picked young...so baby potatoes look greenish. It won't hurt.
I am roasting baby pototoes right now.
No...green potatoes are ones that have sat in the sunlight longer than the other ones...they aren't any worse than regular ol taters. Trust me, I've eaten a million of em. It is only bad if you exceed 3 kilo(1000gram) of patato to 60kilo of your weigth per day.The green stuff is a natural occuring toxin.
the potato is not bad, just the green part is, get rid of that and its OK. The reason it is green is because it was exposed to the sun while it was growing
ITS JUST NOT READY TO EATwell to be honest with u. u shouldnt eat them. they can make u really sick. the reason for the green it was to close to the surface when it was growing. i just throw them away. Anna is right..photosynthesis..the tatoes were exposed to sunlight(The leucoplast turns into chloroplasts-or something like that), that's why they are green like that...no, you will not get sick.

It was just discussed in my biology class
Do NOT eat green potatoes. When green, they contain solanine, which is a neurotoxin!
