Try Bronzed Talapia

SEASONING MIX 2/3 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

1/3 teaspoon garlic powder

1/3 teaspoon white pepper

1/3 teaspoon ground cumin

1/3 teaspoon dried basil

1/3 teaspoon dried oregano

1 1/3 dashes black pepper

1 1/3 dashes dried thyme

4 talapia fillets

vegetable cooking spray

Combine the seasonings mix ingredients in a small bowl. Sprinkle each side of each fillet evenly with 1/2 teaspoon of this mixture. Preheat a 10-inch skillet over high heat to 400°, about 5 minutes. Spray the top side of each fillet evenly with vegetable cooking spray. Place the fillets, two at a time (sprayed side down), in the skillet, reduce the heat to medium, and cook 2 minutes. Turn the fillets over and cook until done, about 2 minutes more. Remove the cooked fillets, wipe the skillet clean, bring the heat back to 400°, and repeat the process with the remaining fillets.

I have found tha any recipe that calls for flounder, fluke or halibut works well with talapia. My favorite is making a crabmeat stuffing, wrapping it in a filet and stickiing a wooden toothpick in it to keep it wrapped and then baking it. Yum!!
Hi there. Don't know if you mean tilapia or talapia - in Kenya, we have a type of fish called tilapia so I'll give you a recipe that might help. Just throw in the ingredients as you please:
Tomato
Onion
Spices
Coriander

Deep fry the fish first till it attains a nice, crisp, brown skin.
Fry the onions till they become soft. You can slice them, dice them, whatever you prefer. Add tomatoes to the pan.
Next, add the spices and stir, making sure the mixture doesn't get too dry. Add some corn flour and water, to thicken the sauce. You can drop in some chilli for some 'kick'.
Toss in the fried fish and let it sit in the sauce as it simmers, turning from side to side so that it can soften slightly.
Bon appetit!

Hope it helps you! And you can still add the lemon for some zest.
Sautéed Tilapia with Lime

1-1 1/3 pound tilapia fillet, about ? inch thick
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 garlic clove, minced or pressed
Salt and pepper
? cup dry white wine
1 tablespoon Nellie & Joe’s Key West Lime Juice
? tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 green onions, chopped
Rinse fish and pat dry. Put the flour on a plate and season with salt and pepper. Dredge the fillets in the flour, patting to remove excess. In a small bowl, combine garlic, wine, Nellie & Joe’s Key West Lime Juice and butter then set aside. Heat the oil in a 10 to 12-inch frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the fillets without overlapping (you may need to cook in 2 batches). Cook until golden on the bottom, about 3 minutes. Turn the fillets over and cook until opaque through the thickest part, 1-2 minutes more. Transfer the fish to a platter and keep warm (cover with foil or place in a 200o degree oven). Add the wine mixture to pan and boil, scraping up cooked bits, until reduced by half, 2-3 minutes. Stir in the onions and heat on low about 30 seconds. Pour the sauce over the fish and serve.

This is a recipe i saw on iron chef America last night

Cook Israeli couscous with a dark, strong, good coffee, until done

Then make a sauce by boiling black licorice in water and reducing it.

Then cook your tilapia in a skillet until done with a little vegetable or canola oil.

Start by taking your reduced sauce (with the licorice removed), and spreading it on the bottom of your plate. Then put the couscous over it, and finally, the fish on top.

Enjoy :)

Tilapia is so delicious........
1) Fried Tilapia....... Clean the fish. Mix 6 pcs. lime to make a lime juice with 1 table spoon salt. Rub the solution to the fish. After 20 minutes, deep fry.

2) Grilled Tilapia...... Use the same procedure as that of the Fried Tilapia except deep fry. Then wrap with banana leaves. Then grill for 20 minutes.

3) Tilapia with Coconut Milk..... Use the same procedure as that of the Fried Tilapia except deep fry. Wrap with gabe leaves then place in a pot. Pour the coconut milk and add strips of ginger. Bring to boil for 20 minutes. Serve.

4) Tilapia (Sarciado)....... Use the same procedure as that of the Fried Tilapia except deep fry. Fry 1 head crashed garlic, 1 medium sized onion and 8 pcs. tomatoes. Put 1/2 cup of water and add Tilapia and bring to boil for 10 minutes.

5) Tilapia (Caswela)...... Same procedure as Tilapia (Sarciado). The add 2 beaten eggs and mix. Serve.

Season it with kosher salt, black pepper, cumin, chili powder and garlic powder, then pan sear and serve topped with mango salsa. For a side dish rice and beans.
try using an orange, slice it wafer thin put it on both sides of the fish. take an orange liqueur like grand mariner, about 1/2 cup, then 1/2 cup of tangerine juice, stick of butter, 1/4 tsp of dill, paprika, salt, and basil. Melt butter mix in the ingredients brush fish with it and thrrow on the grill about 5-7 minutes per side, enjoy with dill and lemon asparagus and little gold potatoes, baked in olive oil, onion soup mix and diced up red peppers.
Wow that was the secret ingredient this week on Iron chef America on the food network. Go to the food network foe some help. Each chef made about five different dishes with this fish and they all looked good and the judges loved them all.
i put a hot pepper salt on it and mix egg and roll in egg and salt and pepper and then bread in flour and fry. mmmmmmm
If you have diced Rotel tomato's available you can pour the can over your filets and cook in the oven til done about 20 - 25 minutes on 350 deg. Get the mild as it may be too spicy for some.
Spray the pan with Pam, put in Talapia. Cover fish with thin slices of tomato and then sprinkle parmasan and shredded motzarella on top. Bake until done.
