Suggestions for replacing a defective Rival Crockpot!? I've had it with defective Rival crockpots!. I've read some reviews, looked at features, and still can't decide!. I need it to be 6 quarts, and have high, low and warm settings at least!. I'm also looking to spend less than $40 - and if it's sold on amazon!.com that's a plus!.
Should I do round or oval - or does it really matter!? I do roasts in the crockpot as well, and the current one is oval!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers: You cant beat nesco if you can get one

If you're looking for something to work on a professonal level for $40 or less you're missing a can from your six-pack; a crock pot is a load of crock!. When you bought the crock pot in the first place what did you expect!? You got what you paid for, a load of "CROCK!" It's a tool for the lazy people!. To hell with the crock pot!! Go spend about $65 for a nice 6-8 quart pot with cover, one that's non-stick, and spend 2-3 hours cooking what you want; I have a friend that eats Banquet frozen dinners and nothing but, won't even use a crock pot; his reasoning is why spend 30 minutes to cook something you're going to eat in 10 minutes!? When I cook the average time for prep and cooking is 2 to 4 hours, and he says it ok, or alright, or I'm not hungry now so I'll put it in the frig for later; if I walk back into his apartment in 15 minutes he's sucking down as fast as he can what I made so I don't see him doing it!! Chicken in a Cognac and Madeira wine cream sauce with creme fraiche, and porchini and morel mushrooms anyone!? French garlic chicken anyone!? 1 hour prep, and 50 minutes cooking time for either recipe!. Leave the crock pot for the rooming-house junkies and physically challenged!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
