What is a Non Aluminum saucepan!? I am making a cherry pie and in the recipe it says to use a non-aluminum saucepan!.!.!.but I dont know exactly what that is and how to tell if my saucepans are aluminum or not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers: Most cookware will have what it is made out of stamped on the bottom!. You may see SS for strainless steel!. Non-stick pans are coated and would work here!. Revere Ware is mostly stainless steel and may either have an aluminum disk or copper clad bottom for even heat distribution, but since these are on the outside of the pan, they would be perfect for this purpose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Something like stainless steel or coated aluminum!. Teflon pans work as well!. If all you have is an aluminum saucepan, go ahead and use it!. It will discolor your pan, but won't wreck your recipe!. However, if a family member has extraordinary taste buds, the aluminum may leave a metallic aftertaste (my sister and son can both taste it)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
