Answers:
Some say it's the Haberano. There is a lesser known pepper called the Scotch Bonnet which arguably is hotter than the Haberano.
There are a number of peppers that you cannot get in the U.S. that are hotter than both of these.
Wild Desert Tepín

Other Answers:
is it a red hot chilli pepper?
Wild Desert Tepin Pepper
Scotch Bonnet. It is also called a Habenero pepper.
As far as i know it would be the Scotch Bonnet. I have eaten a whole 1 before for a dare, believe me it was'nt the most brightest thing that i have agreed to do for a dare.

PEPPER GROWING TIPS

Tepín (Capsicum annuum v. aviculare), the tiny round fruit 1/4" across, is only harvested from wild plants growing in the dry desert of Northern Mexico, much hotter than habanero or tabasco. Plants are late maturing, usually requiring 120 days for green fruit and 200 days from the setting out of plants to mature red ripe fruit.

All pepper plants are perennials, so the Tepin can be grown in 2-3 gallon containers, and brought indoors during the months of frost, and then taken back outdoors when the weather warms.

Plants grow into round perennial bushes, and they can either be dug up out of the garden and grown indoors overwinter in containers when nights drop into the 40s, or kept in a container year-round. You can keep the same plants growing for 4-5 years that way. Being a wild plant, seeds can take 3-5 weeks to germinate at 80-85°F , with the total germination rate from 55%-90+% .

THE WORLD'S HOTTEST PEPPER PODS, the dried Wild Desert Tepín --- actual size!
Whole pods Dried flakes

Dremann's Hotness Scale for the tiny Wild Desert Tepín=20,000-64,000 with seeds removed, which means one ounce of dried pepper pods will produce a detectable hotness in
20,000-64,000 ounces of salsa!

This is several times hotter than the Orange or Red Habaneros of Scotch Bonnets. With the wild desert Tepin pepper flakes, you can make the world's hottest naturally-occurring hot sauce by mixing it with lime juice to taste. Let it soak in lime juice for 24 hours to soften the dried flakes, then put it in the blender, and add enough lime juice to make a pourable sauce.
The Habanero (think I spelled it right) is supposed to be the hottest pepper but there are some Chinese and Japanese peppers that give it a run for its money. I wonder how such a tiny pepper can be so hot that your tongue needs a fire extinguisher before you can breathe again.
How hot is HOT?

The hottest peppers according to the Scoville unit scale on pepper hotness are:
1-Red Savina Habanero measuring between 350,000 ~ 577,000
2-Scotch Bonnet between 150,000 ~ 325,000
3-Habanero between 100,000 ~ 325,000
a picantae chili pepper
That is very simple. It is a habanero peppers
