Answers:
To begin with, 20 carbs per day. Some people consider green veggies "free carbs," as it's good to have at least a cup of salad or some green veggie a day. Once you get down to your desired weight, start adding in more nutritious carbs (ie., fruit, grains), and monitor whether they make you gain or not. If they do, lower the number of carbs you're allowing. Google "atkins," and you'll come up with LOTS of sites where you can find out more info.

dep;ends 20 if you're starting then once you have established your weight lose goal then you can go up to 40

You need to limit yourself to 20 carbs a day for the first 2 weeks and then slowly start adding carbs until you get to the point where you are gaining or no longer losing weight.

The federal government (FDA) has strict limits on the amount of carbs you can take on the Atkins Diet. I would find out what they are before you break any laws. first 30 days is 20 grams of carbs a day.this will put you in a state called ketosis, where you are starting to burn fat off instead of carbs. then you gradually can add carbs slowly as long as you continue to lose weight. its called maintenance period.

30g per day during induction, increasing by 10g every two weeks

Don't do the atkins diet because it is unhealthy ^_^ just eat low in fat, low in sugar, high in fiber and try as much as possible to eat balanced from all food groups

20 a day for the first two weeks. After that you have to find your own critial carbohydrate intake level or something like that. I'd go to the library and check out the book. Or better yet, try the Zone by Barry Sears, it's better balanced and easier. google the key word ATKINS
