Many people always ask for me to make French Toast Casserole. I always prepare the whole thing the day before and I bake it int he morning. Its easy, tasty and people will just love it. I have also made it into a dessert with a scoop of ice cream. Or you can serve with eggs for breakfast.
1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounces) (italian bread works ok)
8 large eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash salt
Praline Topping, recipe follows
Maple syrup
Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1-inch each. (Use any extra bread for garlic toast or bread crumbs). Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9 by 13-inch flat baking dish in 2 rows, overlapping the slices. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Serve with maple syrup.
Praline Topping:
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well. Makes enough for Baked French Toast Casserole.

I can't cook too well. But I can grill some mean steaks. spaghetti pie + homemade chocolate cake. when i was like ten. chocolate cake for my grandma's birthday + spaghetti pie for my family one night for dinner, i think even my grandparents came, and my aunt and her boyfriend where there cuz they lived upstairs.
Something I enjoy cooking, I am comfortable with cooking and always turns out delicious. For me that could be as far ranging as Beef Stroganoff, Ragout of Beef, Beer Can Chicken or even Beer Burgers.
What is impressive is that I can cook anything requested and Its always amazing. Name it and your wish is my command!Shrimp in spicy tomato sauce, roasted baby potatoes and bell peppers, and orzo salad with onions, spinach and grape tomatoes in italian dressing. Desert - berry shortcake Well I make Thai green curried ribs, and I follow it up with a cinnamon stuffed apple baked in phylo pastry. It's really delicious and they go well together.

Chicken cacciatore is my best dish. I would roast a whole filet mignon and serve it with a port wine reduction. Saute (not steam) a vegetable medley in a little olive oil and season it with a little Nature's Seasoning by Morton, or Tastefully Simple's Season Salt. I would make a nice rice pilaf for the starch. This is a very luxurious and expensive meal.
If my budget wasn't big enough to accomodate filet mignon, I would roast a whole chicken or turkey depending on how many people I need to serve. Serve the bird with all the usual accompaniments - stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn. This isn't as luxurious but, depending on your mood, can be even better than the first meal. its just easier to tell me what you want rather than telling you what I can make.
