I asked :what is more advisable to do if we cook potatoes either, wash it after peeling the skin or cut it into pieces and the wash it...pleez direct me coz i have heard that after cutting into small pieces we shud not wash any fruit or vegetable??ANy one NUtrition expert over here!!!
Answers:
Wash it before you cut it.. Isn't it just more convenient to do it that way? Actually I would say wash it BEFORE you even peel it, because the peeling blade thingmabob would get dirty when it touches the dirty potato..
After you cut a fruit or vegetable into small pieces and you try to wash it, you're probably gonna rinse away its juices or little pieces of it.. THat's probably how the fruit/veggie loses it's nutrition that way..
Other Answers:
Wash your potatoes before you peel them, always. Then place them in clean water to boil with a little salt. Do not boil water first, just add potatoes to clean cold water, then boil. New potatoes must be washed and skin left on, then place in clean water for boiling. New potatoes should never be peeled. Wash potatoes before baking in oven, you can wrap them in foil, or leave them unwrapped, do not peel them!
Wash potatoes before you cook/cut/do anything with them.
