Very common in Finland (where I'm from) but personally I don't like...
I've tried crawfish, and didnt like it.
I do it every chance I get.

the tails and good sized claws before boiling in pickling
spice, so no head sucking. I like all of the mud bugs, have
caught my own dungeness crabs now and again.

I like crawfish, but the thought of that freaks me out, since I don't even like eating something that still has eyes, much less actually easting its eyes...
if you check out some of the Chinese buffet restaurants here in the valley they have craw fish and a lot of other wigglers that I can't make myself try. I am too ummm sensitive? heh. I don't want to do snail either. escargot scares me.... I have tried sushi and have found that the mustard and ginger are just too dang hot for me! without em no problem. raw fish..who cares! and the rice is aw some. there are a couple of places here in Mesa AZ (off of Gilbert road) that do craw fish.
no I would not suck the head... I guess I could do lobster if I tried.. shrimp have to be breaded and fried with NOTHING that shows they were alive.
I am a bad meat eater I guess. Shoulda been a vegetarian!
