Here's what I do, pour whatever you're measuring into the center of your palm. That's approximately a tablespoon. Now this won't work if you're baking, baking takes precise measurements, but for most everything else, it'll work great.
large spoon used for eating or serving food; cooking measure equal to 3 teaspoons or 1/2 fluid ounce

You can use a soup spoon for a tablespoon. It is also equal to three teaspoons, not two teaspoons
if you cup your hand (like your holding something in palm and dont want it to fall out, palm up fingers toward ceiling and thumb touching first knuckle on pointer finger)and put dry ingredient in well your hand makes if you are a woman this will be a teaspoon everytime. You'll need to do it twice for a tablespoon. This works evertime my grandmother taught me this trick and I've tried it on different women with different size hands and it doesnt seem to matter. Hope this helps
Table and tea spoons can vary in sizes, that is why they are not acurate in measurements when cooking, especially baking. However, if Rachel Ray can "eyeball it", why can't you. A pinch is about an 1/8th of a teaspoon, 2 of course would be a 1/4...4 pinches would be a half etc... I have used regular dinner spoons for measurments in the absence of anything else. I just recently got the Pampered Chef adjustable measuring spoons though and I love love love them! Happy cooking!
1 TBS = 3 tsp
