Stop trying to be clever.............buy it.
Looks like all you'd need to do is use square baking pans and layer the cakes. Judging from the photo, you would need three layers instead of two, and then use the extra batter for the cupcakes. Have fun! I agree, just buy it. You're in over your head with that one.
This is fairly easy. I made the same cake only the square part was a jack in the box. Instead of using round cake pans, pour the batter into 3 square pans. Then stack them in layers with frosting in between each layer.
Have fun - and Happy Birthday to your daughter!
cake pans come in many different shapes. I suggest you go to a cake specialty shop or you can take a regular rectangular cake pan bake your cake and cut the cake into the desired shape. For height just stack your shapes on top of each other. It looks to me like you would use a small sqare baking pan. I think you could probably also use an 8x8 square pan, cut it into quarters & stack them.
It looks like a fairly small square, since it's only about 2 cupcakes long.
that really very cute one
your taste is good its better to buy
that
Bake your sponge cake, for the decorations you can buy blocks of coloured icing which you can kneed and roll out into sheets and using jam stick to side and top of cake. For the piping you can buy tubes of icing, like toothpaste tubes, from the shop and any other bits you may need. you'd need 3 square baking tins (probably get them from Hobbeycraft or somewhere like that) then when you've baked the sponges layer them on top of each other separated by jam. you'd need probably 2 tubs of frosting for the cake, if you cant get pink then use white with red / pink food colouring. the crown can be brought from claires accessories or any shop like that. for the cup cakes you could use the same recipe as you didd for the main cake but put in small cake cases
Bake the layers in square baking pans or use rectangle baking pans and then cut the cake in half. Two rectangle pans will give you four layers of square cake.
It's just 2-3 layers stacked on either other, cut into a square cube. Pretty basic and simple. You might could do it from one 9x13 sheet cake. Just ice b/t the layers, then ice all over. You then pipe the strings on in a diamond pattern. I'd use the little edible silver balls instead of inedible "pearls."
