1 cup Bisquick, 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk.
Pretty simple.
The very best batter for Fish is 8oz of plain flour and half a can of cheap lager, mix well and leave to stand 20 to 30 minutes, then coat the fish in flour and dip in batter. You need to coat in flour first or the batter won't stick.
This batter is also good for making prawns in batter, onion rings, pineapple slices.
I dip fish in scrambled egg mixture, next Italian bread crumbs, sit, put in hot canola oil. Brown on both sides, yummy.
Use a pancake batter. The cornmeal coating is not good!
