Thanks! Found a great site getting you an answer!

Potatoes are baked in foil (the way restaurants do) will keep longer. And potatoes baked after rubbing in oil and sprinkled with salt taste better.

The usual procedure was to scrub the potato well before starting, poke several holes in the tatter with a fork, rub with cooking oil , sprinkle with salt and bake in a preheated oven (375F-425F) for 45 minutes to and hour.

The done test was to carefully squeeze the tater and if the skin was crisp feeling and the inside felt mushy the tater was done. If you like a softer skin don't bake so long.

Times and temps are rough due to peoples diferring opinions and recipes.

microwave 7 mins
I believe it's an hour.
You poke holes in it with a fork and microwave it for five minutes then see if it's done and if not microwane it for two more minutes.
Large potato,oven preheated 350,wrapped in foil, 1hr.
as long as you want, it has to be submerged in boiling water
Google- baked potato cooking time.
in the oven, set it at 400 degrees and bake for one hour, for an average size potato. it's best to stick a fork in it before you bake it, because once one exploded on a friend of mine when she went to take it out of the oven. if you pierce it first, it comes out nice and flaky inside, too (lets the excess moisture escape). bigger takes more time, smaller takes less time. you can test for doneness by gently squeezing it (with a potholder) if its done, it feels like its done. if its still hard, give it some more time.
same goes for in the microwave, but 6 or 7 minutes on high should do it.
About 10-15 minutes.....
until a fork passes into it easily should take about 45 min at 350 make sure you check at about 35 min the size of the potato will change the time drastically. and always poke w/ fork as your putting them in oven if they blow up it makes a huge mess
You can microwave it 5-7 minutes in the microwave.
Be sure to poke several holes in it so that it will cook evenly.
I love them out of the oven--takes about 30-50 minutes on 350, and it is worth it. --wrap in aluminum foil or just by itself to cook..

My mother-n-law makes the best tasting thing. She boils some potatoes, then cuts each one into 4 pieces and then she spreads them out in a baking dish and puts butter, salt, pepper on those and bakes them for a little while. I do not know all of her secrets --temp, time length, maybe other spices, but it has a great potato texture. Delicious.
When I go out, I love to get baked potatoes from Arby's and a loaded baked potato from a sit down restaurant--my favorite appetizer is potato skins--with sour cream on top and the works--cheese....
1 hour and 15 minutes on 375 degrees for medium large potato!
