put it under some cling film then slightly flatten it by hitting it with a rolling pin (or bottle). Season with salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar (yes really sugar) and a drizzle of red wine if you have it. Leave this in the fridge for 45 mins then pan fry.

It depends on what you want to do with the chuck steak and what type of flavour you want.

It also depends on how old the meat is,old meat is naturaly tougher.

You can buy a powderd meat tenderiser.

Kiwi fruit,Pineapple,Vinegar,butter milk, Ale or beer,slow moist cooking will make it tender.
Generaly chuck is tough which is why its used for mince or stews.
