I am certified, ACF, TCA, and ServSafe. The best course of action though is getting actual industry experience. I have found that having a degree really does nothing for you. Work your way up in restaurants, country clubs, etc. You only need the degree if you want the ACF cert. Plenty of Executive Chefs have no formal training, they've just done the work forever.

What exactly is it that you want to know. I am just finishing up my degree in culinary arts and baking and pastry. Safe serve is mostly about sanitation. You can take a class that teaches you all about the different diseases in the kitchen and how to prevent them. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
