Answer:
I agree, BEANO is great you should try it.
there is a product called 'beano' which is supposed to help prevent this problem.

Beano is the only natural food enzyme dietary supplement that can help prevent gas before it starts. It helps you to digest the complex carbohydrates in your favorite healthy foods. By taking Beano at the beginning of a meal, you can help prevent gas, bloating and other discomfort.
Beano comes in a convenient tablet or liquid, and it isn't just for beans. It also works on vegetables and whole grains. According to the food pyramid, these highly nutritious foods are an essential part of a healthy diet.
A specific bacteria that breaks down the beans properly is not present in large quantities in a person who has not been eating beans regularly. Over time the bacteria should reach a level to digest the beans as they should be. Given time, and the regular consumption of beans, the problem will go away. If you have been eating beans for some time, I would look at other sources for the cause of the gas besides the beans.
Try beano? Maybe eat less beans unless it's just because you really like them. You can get enough protein without massive quanitites of beans...I never eat them (unless you count soybeans) because I can't stand the taste and I'm perfectly healthy.
Not only is there a product known as "Beano" which is taken with gas causing meals, but another great product by "Renew Life" has a product called,"GasStop"-taken with meals, it stops the gas in it's tracks:

A def problem if you hang with "vegitatives". Stand downwind from any "vegitative". Beware they also have the Tofu Trots ... excess flatulence leads to overworked sphincters and hence, the Hershey Squirts are always a possibility with these vegitatives.
If you are boiling the dried beans, peel a plug of garlic and allow it to stay in the pot while cooking. It will not add any garlic taste to the beans unless you cut the garlic up.

You can also throw a plug of garlic in baked beans or any canned beans you are cooking.

Another alternative is using garlic powder (not garlic salt).

I grew up eating a lot of beans and my mother taught me about the garlic many years ago.

Special note: for some reason, black beans are supposedly the only beans that don't seem to have the gas problem associated with other beans.
A mainstay for cooking with beans throughout the world is FRENCH sorrel (Rumex scutatus). It gives a slightly sour taste and also keeps you from getting gassey.
The garlic doesn't work, trust me on this. My Mexican family would always cook beans with garlic, that's the only way we'd cook 'em and that's the only way I was ever taught. They gave us explosive gas each and every time.

Sorry LM.

If you cook them yourself, soak the beans for at least 8 hours before cooking them, that will remove the gas from them. If you eat canned beans, eat Beano first. Take one Beano tablet upon the first bite of gassey food, and make sure you take one pill per serving of food.
