Answer:
actually where ever possible we have to eat the fruits with skins. it is more nutritious that the peeled ones.
You can eat the skin! Don't worry, you won't die...
pulled off! But when they are ripe the skin opens revealing the fruit anyway... not sure if that would be the case in England though. Happens on the trees in Greece etc.
skins are edible
wash them thoroughly and you can eat it with or without the skin

the skin may not be pealed it is harmless and edible
Skin is good, but quite nice to cut a cross shape in it and suck out the seeds - yummy
We grow figs, just wash them and eat them.
The skins are good for you. As with any fruit wash it first.
Yes, figs are meant to be consumed whole, skin and all. Enjoy!
We have a fig tree - some people peel them, but our family eats the whole thing, it's scrumptious!
Picked them off the trees in Greece and they were great, don't peel as many other fruit and veggies have the vitamins sitting under the skin, and taste as well!
yes figs should be eaten whole with its skin...
we, my family and i, eat fig w/skin, without skin. jammed, pureed and caked. enjoy right off the tree.
sure why not
Dried figs no fresh figs yes
I think you eat them with the skin. I don't eat them though, don't like them
Eat them whole - it is more nutritious - and a darn sight less fiddly!

also nice to slit the skins, soak in a little brandy in the fridge overnight and serve with some real vanilla ice cream...
