Answer:
One of my favorite ways is with "Quorn naked fillets" or baked tofu, pre-marinated with Terriyaki Sauce. (Soy Vay is the best.) And of course a green veggie.
Tonite I'm trying something new. Just bought some brown rice/wild rice mixture in bulk and I'm going to cook it in a rice cooker (best invention ever). Then I'll toss it with cooked mushrooms, water chestnuts, celery, onion, and maybe carrots. I'll then drizzle some butter or soy sauce until I get the right flavor. I try to keep things simple.
Ya know Terriyaki Tempeh would be good to throw in too.
i like to mix it with brown rice and stir thru moroccan seasoning!! its rather nice
you can also make rice pudding with it
Being a former chef from Canada and having used wild rice for many years like the first respondant said it is best mixed with other rices or grains, and another caution it cooks differently than regular rice and quicker, soak it for a short period, 15-30 minutes, cook it is lightly salted water, and when it "pops". you will see the ends open, it is done, drain it and add it to the other rices or grains before serving to reheat it.
You can add it with the other things you cook at the beginning, but it has a tendency to over cook then, as far as uses, it is great alone with white or brown rice in a pilaf, as a stuffing for fish or as a filler for veggie patties.
Put some in a blender, food porcessor or spice grinder and grind it to a powder and add it to pancakes, bread and muffins to add a nuttier flavour and taste.
