Answer:
Starburst is a vegan candy. There are no animal products in Starburst candy.
Here is a list of candies that are safe for vegans and vegetarians:
http://www.petakids.com/candy.html...
yes, it called gelatin
No, but the chances of a rat or something falling into the pot at the factory seems pretty good.
i cant say that your freind is doing this but i can just tell you what i have heard
every vegitarian i have known probably five people in my life have said something like that .. i would imagine to convince me to become a vegitarian also :P
why would a fruity candy put intestines in it anyway?
i'd love to find that out; contact the company
Perhaps you mean gelatin, which is the collagen in cow or pig bones, hooves, and connective tissues.
gelatin if it's listed, most things with animal content should list a cholesterol content
I believe Starburst candy, as well as many other products, contains gelatin, which comes from animal bones and hooves, not from intestines.
The candy may be processed with rennin, an extract of animal stomachs.
Starburst have gelatin which is connective tissues of cows or pigs. The same for skittles. I think hotdogs would be more likely to be the final resting place for intestinal tissue.
Gelatin. It's also in skittles, marshmallows, most gummi products, most candy corn and lot of other chewy candy. However a large majority of jelly beans don't have it.
Hi. There are a lot of answers to your question but not a one is clear. Look at the ingredients of your "Starburst" candy product. If the word "gelatin" or "gelatine" is there -- then the candy contains animal byproducts (usually bones, cartilage or skin -- intestines primarily utilized in making sausages and ground meat products rather than gelatin). So if that word is there it is not a vegan candy BUT it does not necessarily follow that it has intestines in it! Probably more likely bones and cartilage. There are two "Starburst" products that do not contain "gelatin" and are vegan -- the hard candy and the jelly beans. Be sure to always check the ingredients however, because companies are constantly changing their recipes.
