Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Is it considered hypocrisy if......?),it will help you,my kids.

you are an advocate for animals-yet you argue that you eat meat because you need certain minerals/vitamins that non-meat items don't offer?

Answer:
Yes- acting like an advocate for animals but eating meat- wearing leather shoes- leather wallet- leather purse...I think by you asking this question- in your heart you know the answer...good luck.
no it certainly does NOT mean you are a hypocrite. you can believe in animal rights and still eat meat.
No. You can be an advocate for animals and still eat meat.
No.
To an extent, yes. However, you do need those vitamins and minerals. Animal meat is the very best source of those things. I love animals myself and I do hate the fact that I eat meat, but I'm not going to pretend that I don't. I don't feel like it's abuse if the reason you are killing the animal is for survival. Survival of the fittest. It really ticks me off when people hunt/kill for sport. I am an even bigger hypocrit because I will eat meat, but I could never ever kill an animal to eat it. Go figure!
Are you sure that there are certain essential nutrients which are not available from vegetable sources? I think not.
If there is a specific condition that requires consumption of food derived from killing animals, birds, fish, etc., and there are no vegetable alternatives, then one should not hesitate to go in for such food/supplements. However, if one is an advocate of animal welfare, one should try to keep such intake requirement to the minimum where life-threatening or other similar conditions exist.
Not to be mean but are you kidding??? Okay, I should ask about the extent of the advocation. I hate animal cruelty. I love steak. I have moderate compassion for endangered species. I wear leather work boots/combat boots for my job. If you think THAT is hypocritical...maybe you should find a time machine and go into the future 5000 years to when there MIGHT be tasty or practical and effective substitutes for meat and animal products. Question for you, if someone doesn't support some level of animal testing does that mean that person supports human testing? (human testing, ie 1940s German Gov't)
Hello CherryBerry,
No, it is not hypocritical to love animals but eat them. Yes that did sound that way. But if you believe that animals should not be killed inhumanely then you might want to look into what some companies are doing to the animals and then decide if you would like to continue to eat there. But i advise you to look into legumes they provide protein and other nutrients that you are missing if you don't get enough meat. And also a multi-vitamin would also save you the trip to the hospital finding out that you have a nutrient deficiency. But it is all your choice. That is a way to stop eating meat so that you conscious is not torn away with every bite you take from that Burger King (cow-burger). Oh, I meant Hamburger (LOL).
I believe that those who would eat animals yet advocate against cruelty aren't exactly hypocrits, but are a little confused...

Most mainstream animal for food farms go through a period where someone they've hired has treated the livestock in an illegal manner (you can go to the PETA website for undercover video of a few of these farms).

Someone who eats meat could be turned off a little by this and eat an apple.

As for essentials for food (vitamins/minerals), the person who is omnivorous ought to know that the meat of an animal is a plausible source of B12 and other things, but that ALL animal meat has been PROVEN to have an adverse effect of destroying muscle tissue at the tendons and high cholestorol, whereas if one eats green herbs for meat/food, there are virtually no adverse effects... people who eat vegetables alone age physically at a slower rate than meat eaters, have better memories and less guilt on their conscience.
this is nothing wrong with spaying/neutering your pets. also cruelty should be stopped
I have 2 things to say about your question, first of all I don't believe in judging people for what they chose to eat.
I will also argue that there is nothing you can get in meat that you can't get in a vegetarian diet, if you think its B-12, that vitamin is manufactured in your intestines. I am a vegetarian and I am not lacking in vitamins/minerals, I have taken blood tests. My doctor says I am perfectly healthy. Not only that, but I feel very healthy as well (lots of energy, almost never catch a cold, in good physical condition, no bad health conditions) Part of my family and some of my friends are Vegetarian, and would say the same thing I am saying to you. Google up vegetarianism and do a little research, there is much more information on the subject than there ever has been before. Lots of cool and tasty recipies, lots of information on how to become a vegetarian and teaching you how to take it slow so you can get used to it. And much much more!

I am in not saying you can't be healthy eating a diet including meat, but I am trying to open your mind a little.
you can buy healthier meat. look for free range chicken and meats without hormones. the animals are treated better while they are alive and you will benefit more from the meat as the animals are healthier and happier so the meat is better for you. you can also eat practical portions and not american portions. try going for 6-8 ozs of meat a day. that is enough to provide you with everything you need. remember to respect your food. most people have forgotten.
we only eat to survive, not live to eat - some non-meat items have lots of vitamins - eg. Tofu, soybeans lots of vitamine A
Absolutely no, you can eat things with a face, as long as it is smiling

Some people, myself included just like the taste and texture, there's nothing wrong with eating meat. Just make sure it's from farms with standards.
I don't know if it's considered hypocrisy but I just wanted to say it is not ESSENTIAL for people to eat meat to survive anymore, I've been vegetarian all my life and so have my parents, and we're all really healthy. So don't act like we're all cavemen who need to kill animals to survive.
I think it is hypocrisy to claim to be an advocate for animals and eat meat. You cannot argue that you eat meat for certain minerals and vitamins that non-meat items don't offer because the ONLY vitamin you cannot get from non-meat items is B-12 ... and you can easily get B-12 through fortified soymilk or vitamin supplements. There are no vitamins and minerals contained in meat that you cannot easily get from non-meat sources. By definition, advocates for animals -- advocate animal welfare improvements. Supporting the animal farming industry is NOT a way to advocate an improvement in animal welfare.... So, yes - it is hypocrisy ... You CAN claim to be an advocate for certain animals ... domestic animals, perhaps .... But you're not (and shouldn't claim to be) an advocate for the farm animals you ignore if you eat meat.

Sorry to sound harsh, but I've seen the animals .... my bf's parents own a chicken farm ...it's horrible. It's hard for me to hold my temper when people callously and arrogantly ignore their suffering(and most people do) - and I'm not saying you are, btw ... the fact that you're asking this question means you realize that animals in the farming industry do suffer horribly....
