Is Burger King veggie burger really vegetarian? and what about Subway's veggie burger?
Answer:
Burger King- The veggie patties are definately vegetarian. But, they are fried>Serving:......................... The BUN is ...Enriched Unbleached Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour Or Alpha Amylase From Aspergillus Orizae, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Folic Acid, Ascorbic Acid), Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup Or Liquid Sucrose, Yeast, Vegetable Oil (Canola And/Or Soy) Or Soybean And/Or Cottonseed Oil, May Contain 2% Or Less Of The Following: Salt, (Vital) Wheat Gluten, Soy Flour, Corn Starch, Yeast Nutrient (May Contain>Soy.............................. SUBWAY ... has always had a veggie pattie but on the menu now is just veggie delight (no patties so perhaps still available but discontinued. and not sure if vegan)...the Veggie Delight is like a salad on bread...many of their breads are vegan ..others vegetarian ..if you are vegan be careful of their dressings ..even the red wine vinigarette has milk ...and all their cookies have eggs and milk ..
I can't say for sure about Subway's but a Burger King I worked at in Ontario uses: Canned Pumpkin, Oatmeal, Wheatgerm or bran, soya sauce and a special seasoning.. it's mixed all together and the patties are made from it. I now use that recipe for whenever I make veggie burgers. Oh by the way the Veggie Burgers were sold at 50cents less than the regular burgers. Most place charge extra to do Veggie stuff! I think Burger King wants to please everyone so that's why they are called Burger King! Most Burger Kings do have veggie burgers ( some might call them soya burgers... samething!) There was one Burger King that I went into and they didn't do Veggie Burgers because they never had a call for them until I walked into it.
Needless to say I was disappointed as I thought all Burger Kings were the same. It's Supply and Demand what dictates things! Oh by the way the Burger King I worked at had a special place to cook the veggie burgers.. The Veggie stuff was seperate from the Meat stuff. However I don't know about the oil and I don't know if every Burger King is the same
Probably Not!
ask for Whole Wheat @ Subway, it's less sugar than white bread, but it's just as fattening when you add some of the extras
Yeah they will have to be vegetarian if they are described to have no meat content, otherwise its false advertising. Once i went to little chef when i was younger and ordered a veggie burger..my mum had her suspicions that it was meat and when we asked the staff they said that they had run out of veggie ones so gave a beef one instead. cheeky buggers!!!
I wouldnt consider the BK patty vegetarian at all, and most certainly not vegan. It contains polysorbate 60 which is animal derived, and many other animal derived ingredients, Its really just a marketing ploy and a chemically laden phoney meat substitute. Here is a link:

Subways veggie max patty contain eggs, calcium caseinate and other animal derived products. Its obvious that these companies are trying to fool consumers. I won't support them.
Yes, they have to be vegetarian or its false advertising and they can be sued - BUT i think that things like being cooked on the same grill as meat, or fryed in the same fryer as chicken nuggets would not make them technically non-vegatrain, though it might make a lot of vegetarians unhappy! - so just cause its called a veggie burger doesn't mean they take care not to cross contaminate it with meat!
Also, Burger King veggie burgers and their ingredients vary from place to place. In Australia the BK veggie burger is like a pattie of potato and peas and carrot and stuff. In NZ they put onion rings on instead of a pattie, in the UK they have bean burgers, in Canada they have these TVP burgers which are way too much like meat for my liking...
I guess subway ones vary too - infact i have only ever seen subway veggie patties in NSW australia.
all i can say for you is watch out! if you can't see them pput together your patty, and can't find an ingrediants list... skip it!
Yes they are
