Silk is the most non-invasive animal byproduct. The caterpillars are usually fed GREAT food that makes them fat and happy and they use the DISCARDED cacoons (you know, the ones the caterpillar doesn%26#039;t want anything to do with anymore. It is garbage to the caterpillar).
How are they harming or taking anything from the caterpillar that it was planning on using? You%26#039;re never going to see a silk factory beating or smashing the caterpillars. Thats just a serious joke.
But I know that vegans don%26#039;t use any animals products or byproducts, so I guess they wouldn%26#039;t use silk either.
Now, to put it frankly, almost every synthetic materail (plastic, nylon, kevlar, etc) is made from petroleum.
Petroleum is a byproduct of dead and compressed plant and animal material. Theres a reason why they call it FOSSIL fuel.
You also can%26#039;t drive cars, heat your home, cook with gas, or use electricity that comes from coal buring power plants (which is just solid version of petroleum). You also can%26#039;t use hydroelectric power plants because they screw up the migratory pattern of fish (and fish ladders aren%26#039;t 100% effective).
You can%26#039;t read books or use paper products because a result of deforestation is animal and species die-off. The only difference is that you don%26#039;t see the animals screaming.
so unless every single one of you vegans wants to strip naked and go about your day nude and free of all materials, you can%26#039;t really nag me about wearing my leather shoes.
If you wanted to get really technical, you can%26#039;t drink water because you are drinking microscopic bacteria (an animal)and if you are going to put animals on a pedestal, you are stealing that water from those animals. You are drinking the habitat of fish. Poor poor fish.
What about the human animal? humans are animals, so if you are trying to make animals all happy and groovy, why don%26#039;t you want the human race to live as comfortably as possible. Animals eat other animals. You might as well go and make it so that not another animal can be killed by anymore animals....and then you can watch the entire species die. (its irony. don%26#039;t get your feathers in a tizz)
Vegans cannot use vaccinations because one of their ingredients is serum from animals (usually pigs, but in the past they have used monkeys).
Thank you for reading my abducto de absurdum argument (note to those people who are going to give me thumbs down for this...its called SATIRE)
I%26#039;m actually vegetarian. Just thought I would share some of the other cruelties of this world with you. We%26#039;re not all saints.

All clothing should don a tag that says exactly what fabrics it is made of. Vegans should steer clear of silk, wool, leather and fur. Those are the common ones. The less common ones are things like sheepskin or sealskin, but that%26#039;s pretty obvious.
