And are you healthier now?

I am 34 years old, I look 24, (that is the age most people think I am!!) I have been a vegetarian for 12 years and I feel much healthier all round. The day I stopped eating meat was the day I stopped hating life!

Answer:
I'm 36 and I've been veg since I was 16. I've always been very healthy (yeah, even when I was a meat eater... my mom always made sure we ate well.) I'm almost always guessed younger than I really am; I don't have the right perspective to assign myself an age other than the one I know I am, but put it this way... I get carded a lot.
I have been a vegan since I was 18. I am 51 now. I am very healthy. I think that is the key. I feel fantastic. My kids were raised as vegetarians. They would sneak off to eat meat. It is a lifestyle. For some people it is great. For others, they need meat. How old do I look? My youngest son said he is tired of people asking him about his sister. Me? It doesn't matter. I feel GOOD.
I'm 25 and look younger but then again I've always been told that. I've been a vegetarian for about 7 months now and have no regrets and have less headaches. Happy and healthy ;)
30, 12, 30.
I have been a vegetarian for 9 years-never regretted my decision at all, I feel so much better and have more energy,my complexion is better and I am a happier person. people think I am about 7 years younger than I am, which is great. Makes me feel better emotionally because I know an animal did not suffer and die just for me.
I've been vegetarian for 21 years. I'm 48 but people say I look 10 years younger. I travelled by train for half fare till I was 28. I've also been doing yoga for 20 years.
Exposure to UV radiation has more of an impact on how old somebody looks than their diet.
I am 30 and I've been vegetarian for about a year and a half. I still get carded to buy booze... so I guess some people think I look under 21?? NOBODY I meet thinks I'm old enough to have a 10yr old daughter. :)

While I dont' think I've been veggie long enough to see any long-term benefits (like maybe I'll still get carded for booze when I'm 40?? lol) but I do have a LOT fewer headaches and I feel a lot better and less fatigued than I did as a meat-eater. I hardly ever get sick... but then again, I've pretty much always been like that. Knock on wood!
30 i look young for my age too i.m me i will show ya
I'm 56 now and fast approaching 57. I've been a vegetarian for around 17 years. Most people find it hard to believe that I am even 45...which is very complimentary.
I've been one for nearly 3+ months , Not that long compared to you!

But I'm 14 nearly 15.

I Dont really know if I look young or old , For my age.

Before I Was a vegetarian , People that I looked older then what I Was.

Maybe I Look younger now...
I've been a vegetarian for 15 years, and now a vegan for the past 3 years. People tell me I look 10 years younger than I am, and I feel so much better then when I was a carnivore. Now at the age of 39, I don't have the health problems of my peers, co-workers, and family have, and am glad that KFC turned me away from meat forever. I ordered a bucket, and while chewing on the leg, I realized what I was doing and had to change my eating habits. Now I don't eat anything with a face, but it does make it difficult to make dinner with the GF.
Vege since 1980
54
How old do I look? Don't know - not brave enough to ask anyone. Would they be honest anyway. I feel 84!
There is no scientific proof as such - but I think your observations are corect. My parents have been vegans for 30 years and people never think that they are about to be 60. They look like they are in their late 40's. As for me, I am generally thought to be about 5 years younger than I am - although all the admin from my job will probably age me prematurely :-)
i am 21and have been veggie for 3 1/2 years. i am much more healthy than i was. at a height of 6'3" i am at a constant weght of 10st 4lb. B.V i struggled to hit 8st. most people think i am 25ish, but that is probably because i used to smoke
I am actually only a month in... I will NEVER go back though.. I feel SOOOOO much healthier, not lethargic, not bloated.. I am so much more energetic! I am 25, and I hope to look 25 in 10 years from now!
Im 16 ... and I look .. well 16...
Ive been vegetarian for 5 months and I feel much healthier.
About a week after I became a vegetarian I felt so much better physically and mentally. Im doing much better in school and I have a lot more energy.
Even some friends noticed a difference and are trying vegetarianism.
Andielep, I got the email you sent me. I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to email me. I really do want to start eating better.
I have not eaten any red meat in 15 years and gave up poultry and fish 2 years ago. I am 41 but look in my early 30's.
I am 29 years old.but people say I look like 18.I am vegetarian since i was 7-8 years old and I am very happy for it.
I'm 42 & have been vegetarian since I was 19. Most people seem to be surprised to find out how old I am & that I have a 12 year old daughter - don't know whether they're just being polite though!

Sometimes I look in the mirror & think I look 50, sometimes I think I look 30 (altho that's when the light's off!).
I'm 16 but 17 on nov 12. i have been a veggeterian since february 8, 2002 which was 6th grade and people tell me ook between 12-14 and sometiems the age i am
I'm 23 and I've been vegetarian for about 11 years. I don't know how old I look really, probably younger than I actually am, I do tend to get ID'd a lot but I'm short as well which doesn't help.

Can't attribute the baby face to being veggie though - my omnivorous family are all pretty young looking too! (Just as well I'm not veggie for the cosmetic benefits then!)
I'm 13 and I've been a vegetarian for almost 7 months now. I look my age. :P

I feel much healthier since I've been one. I've eaten much healthier and peanuts are fantastic. I have vitamins everyday.

I'm extremely happy being a vegetarian. My mom said it was a stage but she probably doesn't think that now. ;]
im 15 and ive been a vegetarian for about 1 and a half years now i think i look 15 but whos knows
I am 17 and probly look that. I have been vegan for about a year and Vegetarian for much longer. I feel alot better and have lost some weight. I consider myself among the healthiest in my family and group of friends. I stopped eating/using animal product and now i feel fuller than i have before and look forward to continuing to grow. :)
I've been a vegetarian all my life. Am 57 but look 47. Have energy of a 40 year old.
My main source of protein is Indian 'Mung' (green) and 'Urad' (black) beans. Visit you local Indian Grocers for these.
I love your answers Andie!

I am 38 and consistently get asked for passes in the high school where I teach.

I have been vegetarian for 10 years and vegan for six.

Yea Veganism! I have never felt or looked better in my life!
30 years at least. They always say I look about 12 or more years younger.
I'm 38 and I have been Veggie for @ 10/11 years. I stopped eating red meat first, due to stomach problems. White meat and Chicken never turned me on, so not a problem. I'm not a full Veggie though as I still eat oily fish (as long as its free range!). Wife and family only eat meat on Sundays (Organic only), but we don't eat anything at all with animal ingredients in. My Wife is a trainee dietitian and so I feel that I get all of the required Protein, Curb's and Vitamins.
I'm a hands on type of person and have had non of the problems that popular myth would lead you to believe about Vegetarianism. My co-workers are all in their late 20's but I can do all of the same work they can for a full 8 hr shift. They look more worn out than I do at the end of the day. So you could say that time has stood still. I also relate well with them all, so my mentality is also in its late 20's. They do laugh at me, when I go on about when CD's first came out and the VHS/Beta-max Debacle. It reminds me of whats happening with Blue-ray/HD-DVD at the moment. Things don't change that much after all!
I just need to get surgery on my lower eyelids if you ask my wife!
Why create a cemetary in your stomach by eating meat when you can get more supplements by eating pure healthy vegan food.
